Job Description

Bill of Materials (BoM) Engineer£Competitive plus benefitsGuildfordAutomotiveA BoM Engineer is required to be responsible for creating, developing and managing elements of the Bill of Materials (BoM) in an accurate, timely manner whilst supporting the parts release and engineering change processes. Candidates with Bill of Materials(BoM) experience in an automotive, aerospace, FMCG or manufacturing environment would be well received.Due to increased workloads this company, a world renowned automotive design and manufacturer, requires a proactive Bill of Materials (BoM) Engineer, based in Guildford, to ensure all parts contained in the manufacturing BOM are correctly set up and structuredin the Material Resource Planning system. As a Bill of Materials (BoM) Engineer you will be required to:

  • Lead the relevant project teams to ensure that the BoM accurately reflects what is required for manufacturing, logistics, material control purposes
  • Manage the configuration change management process for product designs and monitor engineering changes to assess impact on the manufacturing BoM
  • Manage and secure BoM accuracy to deliver the expected output against project milestones
  • Manage the BoM data migration and validation between systems
  • Contribute to continuously improve BoM management
The Bill of Materials (BoM) Engineer should have the following skills or experience:
  • Experience in an automotive, aerospace, FMCG or manufacturing environments
  • Academic qualifications in Engineering, Manufacturing, Information Technology
  • Experience of BOM control and understanding of change management processes
  • High level of competence with Microsoft Excel and analytical tools
