Academic Registry is seeking a motivated individual to join the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) Programmes team located in the FASS Academic Hive. The post holder will provide professional administrative support for the Universitys central team,delivering excellent customer service to support students and staff, and responding to their enquiries in a courteous and helpful manner.The roleIn this position, you will work closely with the Senior Administrative Officer (Programmes), providing administrative support to a range of credit bearing programmes and courses delivered at the University. This includes a range of administrative activitiesincluding the allocation of students into tutorial groups, processing module switch requests and programme transfers, updating records and accessing information, and providing support to key groups and committees, such as Boards of Studies, Joint Staff StudentLiaison Committees, and the Students Union. The role also provides support to the student helpdesk rota covering holiday/meetings and lunchtimes assisting with face to face/telephone/email queries from students and Academics.About youThis position requires someone who enjoys working directly with, and advising, students. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a strong customer focus and understanding of what students and staff need, with an approachable and understandingmanner and excellent communication skills. A good team player, youll need to be adaptable to different situations and show flexibility to assist colleagues where needed. The role will require excellent interpersonal and organisational ability - you shouldbe accurate and methodical in your approach with an excellent eye for detail. You should also be able to demonstrate computing skills, particularly experience working with databases.
