Job Description

The Group provides grocery, merchandise, fuel and food service to consumers through partnerships with globalbrands including Starbucks, Subway, Spar, Greggs, KFC and Burger King.What will my role look likeReporting to the Group Head of Energy & Sustainability, you will be mainly responsible for capital delivery projects, ensuring that new-to-industry and knock-down-rebuild sites have gas, water, electric and telecom services delivered on time and within budget.Alongside this, you will be expected to assist the Group Head of Energy & Sustainability with his responsibilities. You will need to understand the commercial impact of your decisions and influence and drive efficiencies.What would my main responsibilities be

  • Managing the end to end delivery of capital projects (above ground assets/below ground assets) projects.
  • Owning a project/scheme from initial application through to site completion and handover.
  • Working collaboratively with other teams across the business to deliver a project.
  • Managing subcontractors from a relationship, contractual and commercial perspective.
  • Monitoring proactively the overall progress of schemes, any interdependencies and resolving issues/mitigating risks and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
  • Providing effective ownership of projects leads to smooth project lifecycle.
  • Carrying out site feasibility assessments to report back to the property board.
  • Managing utility diversions as part of S278, S38 highways work.
  • Liaising with both in-house and external legal teams on wayleaves, easements and substation leases.
  • Keep up to date with changes in energy regulation and industry standard best practice.
  • Work within and promote the philosophy of team working and development across all business activities to achieve the business objectives and improve performance.
