Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join our dynamic and progressive Secondary School. As a Science Teacher, you will inspire students to explore and understand the wonders of the scientific world. The ideal candidate will havea strong background in science, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage and motivate students in their scientific learning journey.Job Title: Science TeacherLocation: Grimsby DN36Start Date: Sept 2023Contract Type: Full Time/Long TermPay scale: 150-200 per day.The school is accepting part time applicants and unqualified science teachers as well.As an added benefit, they are also accepting ECTs and Experienced Teachers. Commutable Areas: Grimsby, Louth, Hull, and Cleethorpes.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive science lessons to students at various grade levels, following the curriculum guidelines and educational standards.
  • Foster a love for science by creating a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on exploration.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching techniques, including laboratory experiments, demonstrations, discussions, and multimedia resources, to facilitate learning and cater to different learning styles.
  • Incorporate real-world applications and current scientific developments into lessons to demonstrate the relevance of science in students lives.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, projects, and laboratory work, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and promote cross-curricular connections.
  • Stay updated with advancements in scientific research, technologies, and teaching methodologies, integrating them into your instructional practices.
Qualifications:
  • QTS Degree or Equivalent Degree
  • Experience of teaching KS3 and KS4 Science across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • Previous experience teaching science in a secondary school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of scientific principles, concepts, and laboratory procedures.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific ideas in an accessible manner.
  • Enthusiasm for science education and a passion for inspiring students curiosity and understanding.
  • Proficiency in using technology, multimedia resources, and educational software to enhance instruction.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
