Psychological ServicesVacancy based at Weelsby View Health Centre, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, DN32 9SWReference Number:Research Fellow37.5 hours per weekTemporary 18 month contractBand 6 or 7 (post-doctoral)Navigo CiC is aiming to develop a sustained research programme based upon a foundational increase in research activity within the organisation since 2016. Currently this is focussed on substantial work on suicide prevention, veterans’ mental health, evaluations of service improvement models across distinct mental health services and disorders, and pilot clinical trials for the innovative treatments pioneered within the organisation. Navigo are also members of the Transform Research Alliance, a national research-focussed group of social enterprises committed to demonstrating the value and impact of such organisations through research activity and policy influence.This 18-month funded post to recruit an experienced researcher (postdoctoral or within 3 months of thesis submission) to provide leadership in the development of all aspects of research activity across the organisation.The successful candidate will be based within Psychological Services under the supervision of Professor Zaffer Iqbal, Clinical Director and Research Lead.The post holders will be responsible for helping to develop trial interventions, protocol development of randomized control trials or pilot studies, obtaining ethics and other regulatory approvals, developing and helping deliver an intervention training package, participant recruitment, refining data collection tools and processes, and facilitating data collection, data entry and data management as well as statistical analysis. The post holders will also be responsible for process evaluation including qualitative interviews and analysis. The post-holder will write up the studies for dissemination working with PI’s and the wider team.This post is ideal for a researcher with experience of mental health research including randomised controlled trials, psychological therapies, risk management and suicide prevention research and within the NHS mental health employment arena. The working autonomously and as part of a dedicated team, the post holder will liaise with multi-disciplinary clinical teams consisting of colleagues from psychiatry, psychology, NHS care providers, communications and business representatives.Scope of role
