About Our ClientTechnical Absorbents in Grimsby are the creator and manufacturer of innovative Super Absorbent Fibres (SAF) which are used across a variety of complex application within numerous market sectors such as Healthcare (Medical & Hygiene), Industrial (Filtration& Cable), Packaging (Food & Transportation) and Environmental (Construction & Horticulture).Technical Absorbents have been leading the way in the development and manufacture of Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF) for nearly three decades, and, more recently SAF fabrics and SAF spun yarns.Supplying solutions globally, innovation is key as they continue to design new technologies to meet the specific requirements of their growing customer base.Job DescriptionThe Production Manager will form part of the leadership team and will report directly to the Operations Director. You will have full responsibility for a 24/7 continuous production facility. You will be an excellent people manager capable of developing,mentoring and coaching staff to ensure they have the skills and motivation to perform all duties to the highest of standards whilst maintaining KPIs.You will be tasked with improving and maintaining key metrics, such as OEE, across both product lines whilst the business continues its growth plan moving to more specialised products and markets. You will lead operational excellence to ensure the manufacturingteam exceeds all key targets of output, yield, quality and Health and Safety. You will be an advocate of continuous improvement methodologies throughout all aspects of the production team.You will be customer focussed to ensure products are manufactured in line with customer specifications whilst controlling manufacturing costs within budget. You will assist in the development of site operational strategies to achieve targets and will managesite capital project process and associated budget.You will be integral to maintaining SHEQ standards throughout production by participating in SHEQ management systems, minimising energy usage, waste and emissions and co-operating in ensuring the health, safety and welfare of yourself, colleagues and visitors.You will investigate all near misses/incidents/accidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented following root cause analysis.The Successful ApplicantThe ideal Production Manager will be from a Manufacturing and Production background have a proven track record in Production Management within a Chemical or complex process manufacturing environment. You will have a demonstrable record in delivering resultswith a strong emphasis on leading, motivating and developing others. You will have a passion for leading people through efficient manufacturing processes, capable of demonstrating continuous improvement and change leadership.You will be degree qualified in an Engineering discipline, ideally chemical, hold a NEBOSH certificate and will have a strong knowledge of operating to ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
