Job Description

Payroll Supervisor – Grimsby –up to £35,000We are proud to be working with a multi-site PE backed, fast-paced logistics and distribution business based in Grimsby, who are looking to recruit a Payroll Supervisor to join their progressive team. This is an exciting newly created role due to business growthand exciting new future strategy. Our client is looking for an eager and forward-thinking individual who would be able to drive the payroll function forward, drive change and automation and develop processes/ procedures. In return:

Payroll Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all aspects of payroll including managing multiple weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Processing leavers/starters, holiday pay calculations, HMRS submissions
  • Managing a team of 3 Payroll staff
  • Playing a pivotal role with the implementation of a new payroll system
  • Processing staff onto the pension scheme in line with legislation
  • Extracting information from the time recording system and reporting to upload onto the payroll system
  • P11D’s and Pension reporting
  • Preparing payroll reports for year end and audit purposes
  • Review and implement improved processes, procedures and controls including documenting them, driving automation and improvements across the team
  • Other ad-hoc duties and query resolutions
The ideal candidate:
  • Strong Payroll experience and understanding is essential
  • Experience managing a small team
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong payroll systems and IT knowledge
  • Previous experience of system implementation is desirable
