Job Description

Manpower are currently recruiting a night hygiene manager for one of our clients in the Grimsby area!This role would be working Monday - Friday 9PM - 5AM.The job responsibilities include -

  • Create, implement and monitor hygiene schedules and cleaning instruction procedures
  • Ensure all operatives are provided with the appropriate training in cleaning techniques and the use and handling of chemicals
  • Conduct audits of cleaning schedules ensuring that all schedules are carried out correctly
  • Manage the full deep cleaning duties ranging from both surface contact sanitisation to full equipment strip down
  • Work with the production management teams to ensure that the hygiene operations do not adversely affect production efficiency or create machine down time
  • Achieve and maintain the targets set by the Technical team in relation to microbiological trend analysis, HACCP and, where deemed necessary, the positive release of key equipment
  • Liaise with any specified chemical provider to develop a food hygiene audit system
  • Assist the Technical Manager with the site preparation for customer or third party hygiene audits to include provision of departmental schedules, cleaning and staff training records
  • Effectively manage all departmental personnel ensuring that compliance with current employment legislation is maintained
  • Oversee the allocation of annual leave and the general management of absenteeism
  • Maintain the appropriate departmental health and safety procedures at all times including ensuring that the necessary PPE is worn by all staff
  • Review and update the training requirements of the department in line with current legislation and changing departmental requirements
  • Ensure that all Hygiene staff have been given the appropriate level of training necessary to carry out their work within legislative and Health and Safety guidelines
  • Objectively assess the teams performance and develop improvement plans
  • Conduct shift inspections for staff safety
  • Ensure clarity of role for team members, including assigning of tasks and providing feedback
  • Effective labour planning to limit reliance on overtime working within the department
  • Collect data analysis to identify trends and opportunities
Ensure that all statutory (industry guidelines), legal, food safety and integrity and customer requirements are met Ensure adherence to all standards and processes relating to CCP monitoring, glass, complaints, label verifications and other paperwork in your area Assess and manage hygiene standards and rectify non conformances straight away
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures, codes of practice, technical specifications, COSHH regulations and developments in H.A.C.C.P systems relevant to the department and communicate to team
  • Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control, approved chemicals and general hygiene
  • Review and update the training requirements of the department in line with current legislation and changing departmental operations
  • Carry out activities with full awareness of their impact on the environment, in terms of people and the local area
To identify hazards in the workplace and to take corrective action or initiate controls to minimise the risk To effectively promote Health, Safety and Environmental awareness within your areas of control
  • Ensuring that all HSE information relevant to "preventative and protective measures" is communicated to your subordinates
  • Carry out activities with full awareness of their impact on the environment, undertaking swabbing, water and chemical sampling as required via sampling plans, following up and corrective actions requested by Technical or Quality teams.

  • Previous similar working experience
  • Good standard of Education
  • COSHH Certificate
  • HACCP level 2
  • Minimum Level 3 Food safety Certificate
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Management experience
