Support and guidance to gain the NVQ/Adult Care Worker Certiciate in Social Care – whilst working as a full or part time Support Worker.About the Role of Support Worker at Gretton House, Consensus Support Services - (Residential PWS Service):Gretton House is located in the beautiful village of Gretton, Northamptonshire just 5 miles (10 minute drive) north of Corby. An absolutely stunning and very homely Grade II Listed Manor House built in the mid-1800s, providing accommodation for up to 20 individuals. Bedrooms are spread across 3 floors and there is a stair lift available for individuals with limited mobility. The service also benefits from a landscaped garden to the rear of the property with spectacular views across the Welland Valley.Gretton House is a residential service supporting adultswith Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) rated GOOD with the CQC. Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is a rare, complex genetic disorder that affects both males and females from birth and throughout the rest of their lives. It causes low muscle tone with consequent motor developmental delays, a mild to moderate learning difficulty, emotional and social immaturity, which can lead to challenging behaviours. An overwhelming and insatiable chronic appetite usually develops which, without rigorous food management and exercise regimes, leads to food seeking, stealing and life threatening obesity.Our friendly, supportive team of Support Workers take pride in encouraging individuals who live at the service to develop their daily living skills, such as supporting them to help clean their rooms and helping out in the kitchen to prepare healthy snacks. Helping individuals who may need assistance with personal care and bathing.There’s always lots to do, especially in the large activity room where the focus is on fun and inclusion. Activities include arts and crafts, music and dance classes, gardening, music workshops, drama classes and much more. Individuals can enjoy the cinema, bowling, swimming and the gym in the nearby town of Corby and try new hobbies and experiences such as horse riding.
