We are a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets, together with personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers through the Marine Society. We understand the challenges young people face today, and the demands on seafarers. We help them get on course to develop life-enhancing skills that they can use to seize a better future.Through the Sea Cadets we strive to inspire the next generation to realise their potential and seize a better future through nautical adventure based on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy. Through the Marine Society we empower seafarers to get to where they want to be through learning and self-development.We are seeking a Young Trustee Committee Member who will help facilitate the development of our offering to young people and seafarers through the implementation of our five-year vision and strategy. As a committee member you will be required to attend four committee meetings over the year to actively contribute to the board of trustees and to attend various events.We are committed to increasing our diversity amongst our committee members and would welcome applications from young people from all backgrounds and experiences. We look forward to benefiting from the contributions and experience a young person could bring to the table. As a young committee member you would have the same influence and responsibilities as any other committee member. In return, we are committed to providing you with the support and development any new committee member would need. This recruitment is in line with the Young Trustees Movement, which is a movement to increase the quality and quantity of young trustees on boards.We are looking for someone between the ages of 18-25 to take up this post.
