Brilliant opportunity for a Paediatric A&E Nurse to take the next step in their career & join the Urgent Care team @ The Portland Hospital as a Senior Staff Nurse. Paediatric Urgent Care Senior Staff NurseLocation: The Portland Hospital for Women & Children- Great Portland Street W1W 5AH, LondonHours: P/T 28.75 pw -10 shifts per month (long days & Weekend shifts) Urgent Care is open 8am-8pm and flexibility will be required to cover these timesSalary: competitive dependent on skills & Experience + benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development)For a limited time, we are offering a £10,000 welcome bonus new PICU nurses that successfully join the team (T&Cs apply).AsaPaediatricSenior Staff Nurseworking within Urgent Care, you will provide clinical leadership and ensure the provision of high-quality nursing care to children and families. You will be undertaking responsibility for the department and working to promotea progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice.OurPaediatric Urgent CareCentre oversees patients that attend the clinic for emergency consultations, diagnostic tests and minor procedures if necessary.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of the unit and manage patient flow safely and efficientlyCo-ordinate patient care with the multidisciplinary team
  • Manage allocated resources effectively and efficiently
  • Ensure documentation is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Ensure the provision of appropriate mentors for student nurses and provide a supportive environment.
  • Ensure that tailored care plans are in place for all patients in the designated clinical area.
Skills & Experience:
  • NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support
  • Understanding of Safeguarding issues with Safeguarding Level 3 training
  • Must have experience working within a paediatric A&E or UCC with experience in performing minor procedures such as plastering, wound care and performing ECGs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ideally experience in Manchester Triage or evidence of a Paediatric assessment course.
  • Excellent knowledge of clinical governance and experience with audits
  • Experience ofshift leading & co-ordination
