Senior Policy Advisor3526Permanent, full timeLondon£46,514.88 per annumClosing date: 16-11-2020We are looking to appoint a senior policy advisor in the BMA`s council secretariat to support the work of some of the Association`s key committees. This is a permanent post and will be reporting to the senior governance and committee manager within the chief of staff`s team.In this varied role you will:- lead on providing secretariat support to our retired members committee, including developing agendas, collating papers as well as drafting minutes and taking forward action points- be assisting in the smooth running of key governance committees.-carry out research into emerging policy areas combined and present policy reports to a wide range of audiences both written and verbally-be working collaboratively with elected members and colleagues across the Association.The ideal candidate must have:-excellent communication skills and attention to detail (written and oral briefings to senior staff, chief officers and chairs of committees)-experience of member led organisations and working with a range of stakeholders-Experience of working as a committee secretary and administration of elections-Project management skills and understanding of association`s dual roles as trade union and professional bodyAs a BMA employee, you`ll receive:-A competitive salary with good terms and conditions of service.-27 days of annual leave (increase to 30 with service), plus 1 company day, public holidays and the opportunity to purchase up to 5 days per annum.-double matching pension contributions up to 12% of salarybike to work/ Seasonal ticket-additional flexible benefits.Job shares are welcome.You will be working remotely initially, but we`ll provide all the support you need.
