Job Description

The Senior Group Financial Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of the Groups consolidated results, and development of the Groups reporting process, working closely with and supporting the Group Financial Controller.This is a challenging and varied role that requires a hands-on approach, in an organisation that embraces entrepreneurship and challenge.Client DetailsMy client is a leading UK business services company that has grown quickly through acquisition and organic growth. It is highly profitable and cash generative and is one of the larger companies listed on AIM.A new phase of growth is planned for 2021 and beyond, through a combination of organic growth, acquisitions and margin expansion. The Group has two divisions; Document Management and Relocation. My clients Document Management division comprises of Records Management, Digital and Datashred providing services in information and data storage, digitisation and automation of data and secure data destruction. My clients Relocation division comprises of Harrow Green and Technology. Harrow Green is the UK leader in commercial relocations while Technology is the UK leader in IT asset deployment, management, and decommissioning.The Group is pushing for more cross selling, which is key to advancing margins, along with better use of the asset base. The number of properties is being reviewed as well as the cost base with better use of data analytics being introduced.DescriptionThe role reports directly to the Group FC and also involves liaising with and developing strong relationships with the 5 Business Unit financial controllers and wider finance teams.The role will provide greater commercial insight and challenge to the Group. This will result in higher quality, more accurate, insightful, and timely analysis.Involvement in the process for, and preparation of the Groups Annual and Interim Report & Accounts and associated information for analysts and shareholders presentations;Responsibility for the preparation of the Groups monthly management accounts for the Board, using CCH Tagetik (the Groups consolidation system);The operation and on-going development of the Groups Tagetik reporting system, through close liaison with the senior management;Work with the divisional teams to accelerate the current management accounting deadlines and processes;Assisting the Group Financial Controller in preparing Board and Audit Committee papers as required;Supporting the Group Financial Controller in managing the external audit process, including coordination with subsidiary teams;Reporting information from the Groups newly implemented IFRS16 system, Innervision;Preparation of the Groups cashflow forecasts using submissions from Business Units, which gets reported to the Treasury Committee;Support in the development of the Group Finance manual and accounting policies;Working with the Director of Group Finance, the Group Financial Controller and divisional controllers to improve the Groups internal control framework;Establishing strong relationships with business leaders and financial stakeholders; and staying informed on the latest industry techniques, methods and compliance.ProfileQualified Chartered Accountant - ACA / ACCA / CIMAYou must have experience of group consolidations and;Be able to report under IFRS and UK GAAPAlongside:Demonstrable leadership and interpersonal skills;Motivated to create an environment of continuous improvement;Ability to implement significant change with a down to earth approach;Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills;Strong MS Office skills (Excel Inc. modelling, PowerPoint & Word);Ability to assess issues, take control and offer solutions;Organised in an effective manner, able to focus on key priorities;Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature;Ability to thrive under pressure, always adhering to strict deadlines;Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and ability to work effectively in a team, building good working relationships with colleagues.Job OfferA competitive salary - £55,000-£60,000 (experience dependant) Discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance (TBC)Pension contributionAnd more!
