Job Description

Our client, an award-winning Housing Association based in Greater Manchester, is currently recruiting for a Responsive Maintenance Surveyor on a temporarycontract for three months initially, however this is likely to be extended. Our client is also proud to hold a gold accreditation with Investors in People.The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The hourly rate is for this position is extremely competitive for the industry.This role will be based from home with candidates able to use their home address as their starting point for mileage expenses claims.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the social housing sector, however this requirement can be flexible.Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Carrying out reactive maintenance surveys within domestic social housing properties which may include faults or defects in kitchens, bathrooms, windows and doors and damp/condensation
  • Producing specifications of work following inspections
  • Raising orders for replacements when the requests cannot be repaired by the internal maintenance trades team
  • Allocating work to internal trades teams
  • Liaising with tenants to discuss the scope of work to their properties
  • Assisting with disrepair inspections when required
  • Auditing void property inspection reports where required
  • Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
  • Ability to accurately specify appropriate remedial works following repair requests in domestic social housing properties
  • Customer focused attitude
  • Working hours:
  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (start and finish times flexible)
