Summary This position is kindly funded by Defra through the Green Recovery Challenge Fund (GRCF) and aims to kick-start a pipeline of nature-based projects while creating and retaining jobs. The c£3.85 million grant has been awarded to the National Trust by the National Lottery Heritage Fund on behalf of Defra and will deliver a significant programme of work including:•Nature conservation and restoration, including tree planting, ecosystem restoration and species recovery;•Nature-based solutions, particularly for climate change mitigation and adaptation; and•Connecting people with nature. The programme, “Delivering Historic Landscapes, Resilient to Climate Change”, consists of 5 projects across the country at some of our most historic and important landscapes; Wimpole, Killerton, Wallington, Buscot & Coleshill and various locations across Cheshire (such as Dunham Massey, Lyme, Quarry Bank and Alderley Edge), and is helping the Trust deliver its strategy for restoring a healthy, beautiful, natural environment. What its like to work here By March 2022 there’s a lot we want to have achieved and we’re going to need to work at pace to deliver. We’re looking to take great steps in our conservation work both in our historic deer park and on the wider Dunham estate – path work, tree planting, wildflower meadow creation to name but a few activities. We’re also looking to work beyond our boundaries and to support communities to the north of the estate with creating and maintaining green spaces where they live. This post will report to the Project Manager for the Green Recovery Fund, and work closely with the wider GRF delivery team both at Dunham Massey and across the group of Cheshire properties delivering the project. What youll be doingWith a short time to deliver this project your ability to spot what is needed, and to be where needed, will be key. You’ll need to be flexible and thrive on adapting to different demands and challenges, supporting your project team colleagues as you do so. We anticipate that you will be working as part of a team to co-ordinate the set-up of two local green space rejuvenation projects to the North of Dunham. Additionally, you’ll be supporting the Project Manager in keeping the overarching project on track with tasks such as work scheduling, project reporting through governance channels, team/board meetings, communications (internal and external) and financial record keeping.Who were looking for •You have experience of co-ordinating projects, cutting through complexities with a pragmatic ‘can-do’ approach. Experience of working within organisational project management frameworks and external funders would be helpful•You have experience of building networks with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and are a ‘people-person’, skilled at managing relationships•You are familiar with project reporting and managing budgets. Experience of sourcing contractors and setting up suppliers would be desirable•Some familiarity with writing content for PR releases and spotting a good news story would also be desirable The package Benefits for working at the National Trust:
