Job Description

Job IntroductionAbout the role:Based in Euston as part of the SCS Area East NI/AP team.Project Manager for the process management and delivery of the Noise Insulation works across SCS Project ( Area East/West & Central)Responsible for all aspects of delivery including safety, Environment, quality, cost, programme.Ideally, you will also be experienced in data, business and process management which will enable SCS to provide a high levelhigh quality service to residents who require noise insulation.Role Responsibility

  • Leading a project team, including subcontractors, suppliers and 3rd parties, including implementation of the health, safety, environmental and quality standards, whilst delivering noise insulation works to a number of properties ranging from listed/heritagebuildings to multistorey residential blocks, to ensure that the project delivers its contractual obligations in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Developing & managing a process for capturing communication between the NI team/suppliers and residents which enables the management of an effective bookings/data capture process.
  • Working with the project teams to ensure temporary works details are in place and submitted in line with the programme
  • Working closely with the Consents and Engagement team to ensure the appropriate consents and communications are granted and provided in line with the delivery programme
  • Ensuring all insulation documentation is produced and collated and submitted to HS2 inline with our Document Management System.
  • Promoting and monitoring the roll out and implementation of SCS values and behaviours
Health, Safety & Environment
  • Ensuring health and safety is given the highest priority in the delivery of the works
  • Be familiar with and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies
  • Ensure that the Health Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures are effectively communicated to the workforce and implemented
  • Work collaboratively with the HS2 team and other contractors, subcontractors to achieve the overall project goals
  • Supervising responsibility for site teams; liaison with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop, maintain and monitor a robust programme that is cascaded and understood by the team
  • Develop forecast budgets, assess actual programme and productivity achieved taking action where appropriate
  • Positively manage the programme to ensure sufficient resources with the necessary skills are in place to deliver the project and the effective and efficient management of those resources
  • Managing the team and supply chain to ensure that they deliver in an efficient way and in accordance with the Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements
  • Understands the scope of the works and identify change Ensure that comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works are maintained.
  • Assessment of Project Delivery risks, development and implementation of mitigation measures including allocating responsibilities within the team and ensuring that suitable mitigation plans are in place and monitored
  • Promoting the pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement, driving innovation, adopting best practice, standard processes and procedures
  • Guiding and developing the team in terms of skills & competencies to optimise their work contribution as well as encouraging behaviours / cultures supporting collaboration.
  • Ensuring and overseeing the professional development and progression of staff and ensure that necessary training and briefings are identified and provided
  • Setting clear goals and objectives, roles and responsibilities and ensuring good clear communication throughout the team
  • Ad hoc duties as required by the job
The Ideal Candidate
  • Degree or equivalent in building, civil engineering or construction management
  • Knowledge and Understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of processes and data management
  • Knowledge of heritage buildings
  • Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
  • Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
  • Knowledge of Environmental Minimum Requirements (including Code of Construction Practice, etc)
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process with strong ability for planning
  • Strong leadership, communication and conflict management skills
  • Relevant CSCS Card
Desirable (the ideal):
  • A Chartered member of a relevant professional body
  • Track record of developing a proactive and collaborative relationship with the Customer teams
  • Ability to establish and lead a safety first culture with a track record of delivering projects safely.
  • Experience of working in an environment of a complex structure of stakeholders and ability to maintain good relationships throughout
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a focus on the development of people in the team to realize their potential
  • Able to demonstrate the application of systems and construction processes that develop a results driven culture of excellence throughout the project team
  • Can demonstrate leading supply chain relationships to bring innovation and best practice to the project within a commercial framework that ensures delivery to programme and budget
