Job Description

Mediplacements are recruiting for a Speech & Language Therapist who is looking to work in the London region. Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist ASAP Ongoing Between £37,638-£39,811 Monday to Friday 8.15-3.45pmHave experience of working/ placementsin a range of paediatric settings including children with learning disabilities.Have experience of working with children and families, carers and other professionals.Demonstrate knowledge of, and experience in, using, a range of assessments associatedwith children with developmental language disorders, delays and complex communication needs.Demonstrate knowledge of, and experience in, the delivery of specialised, evidence based therapeutic interventions.Provide speech and language therapy with professionally-informedclinical decision making and case-management, and when necessary, in consultation with the team working with the young person.Have experience and/or knowledge of AAC use including unaided and aided AAC. Understand the communication and swallowing needsof a paediatric population.Be committed to using an evidence base to inform clinical practice. Have experience of collaborative practice in a school and/or an understanding of, and empathy with, the principles of collaborative practice.Have experiencein working with a range of professionals and an ability to adapt to the communication styles and diverse backgrounds of students, parents, caregivers and relevant professionals.Have an ability to plan, deliver and evaluate group therapy sessions and wholeclass SaLT -based lessons.Provide specialist advice to all members of school staff, parents/caregivers, members of other agencies and professions with whom we work.
