Orthopaedic Lead Theatre practitioner| Marylebone |up to £50,000 per annum dependent on experience37.5 hoursThe hospital established in February 2020 by a consortium of leading orthopaedic and cosmetic surgeons. Boasts a six floor hospital, building locatedin the heart of the Harley Street medical district In our state-of-the-art theatres, our surgical team performs a range of minimally invasive day-case procedures across a wide range of specialities including orthopaedics, oral and maxillofacial, ophthalmologyand cosmetic surgery. They are now looking for an Orthopaedic Lead Theatre Practitioner to complete their team and to progress to their next stage in developmentRole Purpose:Coordinate and actively assist in the management and organisation of care provisionwithin the Operating Department while assisting the theatre manager in the management of the theatre teamProvide quality planned care for patients during their perioperative phase of care by ensuring all team members deliver quality patient care by providingappropriate clinical and managerial leadership for clinical team.Key Accountabilities: Co-ordinate the daily operational processes of the theatre departmentEnsure compliance of the team to mandatory patient safety checks including WHO check, informed consent,patients identity, operative site against the supporting documentation, swab and needle counts and equipment checks.Act as a role model and mentor to junior staff providing advice and support to othersAssist in monitoring the patients condition throughoutthe procedure. Taking appropriate action to manage any arising complications through contingency planning.Ensure that the team administer medications in accordance with the appropriate hospital policy.Monitor, order, receive and check stock items includingconsumables, equipment and drugs.Take the lead role in the ordering and coordination of orthopaedic loan kitParticipate in the appraisal process, assisting in the cascade of the process.Enable and encourage team members to expand and develop their own competencieswithin the patients perioperative phase of careAllocate work to others, which makes optimum use of colleagues abilities while providing learning opportunities.Be aware of and comply with all infection prevention, control policies, and ensure best practiceis maintained to ensure low infection rates.To ensure Consultant Preference cards are up to date and liaise with consultants regarding new equipment and procedures.To prepare in advance for operating lists, ensuring all loan kits, consumables etc are available.Tomeet with company representatives as requested by the Theatre Manager and to assist in organising training with representativesPlay an active part in recording patient and staff accidents, incidents and complaints and investigates as requiredBenefits;Annualleave entitlement of 33 days inclusive of bank holidaysAdditional day off for your birthdayCompany pension schemePrivate healthcareEmployee recruitment referral schemeEmployee assistance programmeEmployee of the quarter award To be considered for this positionplease send over your CV using this link or get in touch with Chloe Hughes on or email at
