We believe HMG is the best place to work and develop your career.About the Role:An opportunity has arisen for a laboratory assistant to join our Advanced Colour Design team. The successful candidate will work in an exciting colour laboratory setting, developing innovative coating designs. As a team, westrive to be proactive by using our initiative to perform tasks as required and to ensure the smooth running of our department. In doing so, we provide a leading and innovating service to our manufacturing departments and customer base.Working Hours: 39 per week (7.15am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday & 7.15am to 1.00pm Friday)PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing and formulating new colours using a Colour Computer and Spectrophotometerand by eye. (Full training will be provided)
• Collaborating with customers (internal and external) to develop new formulations and colour ranges for our hobby market and assisting with colour queries.
• As part of the formulating process, to follow step by step instructions.
• To support manufacturing departments when required bycarrying out adjustments to batches in accordance with the product specification, either as a result of your own assessment (visual or otherwise), of the colour of the product or as a result of QualityControl Testing of other parameters.
• To retain information of all colours produced (batch card / wet sample/ documented)
• To undergo training if required as part of your development
• To be familiar with and follow the appropriate operating procedures for the activities in which you are engaged.
• To make your supervisor aware of any difficulties in equipment or facilities.
• To strive to maintain the high levels of cleanliness within the laboratory.
• To continuously strive for improving standards of performance in all aspects of your work.
