And that is where you come in.We are looking for a Head of Service for our Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit (SQAU) to lead exceptional practice anddrive service improvement through quality assurance, learning and workforce development, with a strong emphasis on a relational approach with children and families. You will have responsibility for the independent chairs for child protection, care for childrenand young persons plans, as well as the LADO service, quality assurance team and leading on our domestic abuse practice. You will also be the link person between the Safeguarding Partnership and Childrens Services team, offering independent advice and scrutiny,ensuring strengths in practice and learning is effectively understood and addressed. You will lead rapid reviews and develop the safeguarding partnership vision.As the Head of the SQAU will have a critical role within the senior management team, ensuring feedbackis heard by managers and partners at all levels, and identify and develop improvements to social work practice and expertise. You will take the lead across Childrens Services for the quality assurance framework and impact of this upon outcomes.You will behighly motivated, with a strong social care background and the ability to effectively lead and inspire staff through the provision of collaborative, forward thinking and values bases leadership. You will have a high degree of inter-personal skills to workeffectively across the service, wider organisations and external partner agencies. You will be comfortable taking decisions on behalf of the organisation, be involved in strategic decision making within the service and across the wider childrens servicescommunity ensuring the service is fulfilling all its statutory functions.You will be joining a supportive, experienced and forward-thinking leadership team who can, and do, draw on a wide range of professional and specialist support to ensure excellence acrossthe service.
