Reporting into the main board and forming part of the Senior Management team, as Financial Controller (UK) you will be responsible for the leadership, development and execution of the local accounting initiatives within the framework of the overall corporate accounting initiatives.Key responsibilities as Financial Controller (UK):

  • Leads local accounting policies and practices, maintenance of fiscal records, preparation of internal and external financial reports, corporate accounting.
  • Leads local process improvement with a focus to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the operational finance activities
  • Manage a team of 18 FTE’s with a total annual revenue of £250million
  • Accountable for all operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organisational structure to achieve the departments goals and objectives in alignment with the European Financial Controller
  • Support the European Financial Controller in developing a regional accounting team to accommodate the growth and complexity of the organisation
  • Monitor technical accounting, regulatory and financial reporting developments to ensure the business maintains compliance with current and developing standards and regulations
  • Participate and support in key decisions as a member of the executive management team in the UK and the Europe accounting team.
  • Manage the UK tax compliance, ensuring all returns are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Execute account reconciliations in accordance with global account reconciliation policy
  • Implement the COSO framework of internal controls over financial reporting, including monitoring the cross functional elements relevant to the business and ist readiness to be SOX compliant
  • Develop and maintain control policies, standards and procedures that comply with all regulatory guidelines in accordance with SOX Section 404 and Operational Risk Management requirements and promote cost-effective risk mitigation.
  • Ensure that financial statements and group reporting accurately reflect the financial results of the company
  • Collaborate with corporate FP&A to ensure monthly results are accurately communicated to the leadership team, ensuring a "no surprises" approach.
  • As Financial Controller (UK) you will have the following credentials:
  • Require qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA. You will have developed a strong technical accounting skill set with local GAAP.
  • The Financial Controller (UK) will be results driven, with a proven experience of successfully achieving goals. First class planning and prioritisation skills, being commercially astute.
  • Will have had responsible finance experience in a company that values developing outstanding financial talent.
  • Excellent financial accounting experience, formation of accounting policy
