Job Description

£44,606 - £50,819 depending on experienceNHS PensionFlexible working options consideredAre you looking for a career in the NHSBolton Hospital NHS Trust is looking to appoint and new Head of Costing. An enthusiasm to develop and learn, whilst matching our team and organisational values are key in this role, NHS experience is desirable but not essential. We are looking for someone who will embody our values, and will bring a drive and ambition into the role.Duties of the role are to:

  • To act as the Trust’s internal lead for costing and service line reporting
  • To maintain the Trust’s costing information management systems to provide high quality costing and service line reporting information for both internal and external reporting
  • To work with all key stakeholders, both internal and external, to increase the accuracy of costing and service line reporting
  • To ensure the timely and accurate production of the Trust’s annual Reference Costs return
  • As an early implementer site for the Costing Transformation Programme (CTP), to ensure that the Healthcare costing standards for England are fully embedded within the Trust to support the annual Patient Level Information and Costing System (PLICS) cost collection
  • To support the contracting negotiation process by providing information on costs
  • To lead, manage, motivate & develop the costing team within the Trust
  • Management of the Trust’s Patient Level Information and Costing System (PLICS)
  • Engagement with clinicians to ensure the continued appropriateness of allocation and apportionment methodologies.
  • Ensure that the trusts values are at the heart of all decisions made and behaviours displayed.
