Job Description

Contract: Permanent, full-time, or part-timeSalary: Highly competitiveLocation: Remote/ Field-based (within 50 mile radius of Manchester)Start: As soon as possibleThe main purpose of this role is to undertake fire risk assessment inspections across different group properties and provide general fire safety consultancy on specific client queries.The Fire Risk Assessor ensures reports are managed in accordance with company policy at all times. Communications and relationship management with clients, local fire authority representatives, and the Compliance and Technical Support Manager are key aspectsof this important role. Compiling accurate reports, maintaining knowledge of current legislation, and any additional responsibilities as required, underpin this role.This post demands an experienced, dynamic, and committed individual.Experience and background:Required

  • Minimum of 2 years continuous experience of on-site fire risk assessment (FRA) inspections and report writing
  • Experience of undertaking and, a good understanding of, Types 1 - 4 FRAs
  • Broad range of property purpose group experience, eg. example residential, commercial, industrial, etc.
  • Membership with a professional fire safety body such as the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and/or Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM)
  • Minimum Level 3 Fire risk assessment foundation training.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including fluency and understanding of the English language
  • Commercial focus with the ability to understand client risks, needs and key performance drivers
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) and vocational fire safety courses
  • Good level of IT skills and superlative organisational skills
  • A proactive working style with the ability to prioritise own workload, meet deadlines, and work autonomously.
  • A valid driving license
Advantageous
  • CSCS (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme) card
  • Membership with an approved fire risk assessor register (IFE, FRACS, IFSMTFRAR)
  • Working knowledge of Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Codes of Practice (incl. BS 9999 and BS 9991), The Building Regulations (ADBVol 1 & Vol 2), LACORS, NFCC Specialised Housing Guide, Purpose Built Blocks of Flats Guide 2011 and other guidesas necessary.
