We are currently looking for a Downstream Analytical Technician to join a leading chemical biotechnology company based in the Manchester area. As the Downstream Analytical Lab Technician you will be responsible for downstream purification and analytical techniques such as HPLC.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your duties as the Downstream Analytical Technician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:1. Preparing samples, stock solutions and buffers for analytical processes such as HPLC, UPLC or other chromatography techniques. 2. As the Downstream Analytical Technician, you will perform separation processes using downstream purification such as ion exchange chromatography, size exclusion chromatography or AKTA systems. 3. Performing routine running of lab equipment such as titrations, HPLC or solvent extractions. 4. Helping to run daily operations such as the fixing of equipment, autoclaving and preparing bioreactors. ROLE REQUIREMENTS:To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Downstream Analytical Technician we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. Relevant degree in a life science based field such as biochemical engineering, biochemistry, bioengineering, biomedical engineering. 2. Proven industry experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company working with lab operation of analytical equipment or downstream purification. 3. A working knowledge and practical experience with analytical and downstream techniques such as HPLC and other chromatography techniques.
