It actually requires a large multi-disciplined team, working together and making best use of the skills and resources available.Our offerThe contact management team at Greater Manchester Police respond to 2 million calls for help annually. As a part of our team, you will demonstrate compassion, resilience, respect, problem solving and teamwork.As a Dispatch Operator you will work as part of a team to deploy officers to incidents, manage the incident summary queue with divisional supervision, monitor and manage the radio and provide ongoing backup and support to officers to ensure that they have allthe relevant information when attending an incident.You will monitor the welfare of all officers by responding to radio transmissions and carrying out periodic checks on officers despatched to incidents together with carrying out incident background checks using PNC and other GMP resources and inform operationalofficers of the findings and any bail terms as well as providing a high level of customer service.RewardsThis is a part-time position; however, we are looking for flexible people who can work shifts. No leave will be granted/accepted during the training period.These posts are based at Force Headquarters, Northampton Rd, Manchester, M40 5BP and Claytonbrook Operational Communications Room, 2 Claytonbrook Road, Openshaw M11 1PP.These posts attract 20% shift allowance and 14.90% weekend enhancement. The basic salary is £10, 918 p/a and with added allowances will equate to c. £14,500 p/a, however, please note that shift allowances and weekend enhancements are not payable during theinitial training period.
