We believe HMG is the best place to work and develop your career.About the role:We have a fantastic opportunity for a Despatch Manager. The purpose of this role is to hold the responsibility for all of the despatching functions within the HMG Warehouse & Logistics department. Managing and developing ahigh performing despatch team, ensuring that the quality of the final adding process is completed with care and accuracy and that the carriers are managed in order to ensure that the orders accurately get to all HMG customers.Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 8.15am to 5.00pm. Fridays 8:15am to 4.00pm.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coach, train and develop the team to enable them to continuously improve their performance, professionalism, and competence. Plan, organise and manage the work of the warehouse team to ensure daily output targets are achieved. Be visible on the shop floor and provide leadership to the team using clear lines of accountability To complete all paperwork and procedures relating to dispatched finished goods including Hazardous goods certification (ADR, IMDG, IATA). To ensure all hazardous goods are shipped compliant and meet all regulations. Continual review and renew DG standards.Partaking in continuous improvement activities, for the packing and dispatch functions. Overseeing the picking and despatching of customer orders, ensuring all orders are despatched on time and to the correct specification. Promote high standards of housekeeping and presentation Management and planning of the carrier capacity and schedules Contribute to the HMG culture and understand how to interact with other departments to ensure there is clear communication. Streamline to ensure no orders are mixed when orders are prepared Ensuring all vehicles have been loaded 100% accurate with correct and accurate paperwork Report issues and solutions to upper W&L management Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints for shortages or mispacks, implement changes/corrective actions. Ensure all documentation related to the operation are correct and signed off. Create and brief out daily plans to the entire team and monitor their performance. Plan work rotas for warehouse team staff Motivate, organise, and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded Make sure stock is stored correctly in accordance with H&S and company policy Excellent decision-making abilities and ability to integrate and apply information Ensure correct documents are provided for Import shipment, including customs paperwork Supervise the updating of systems with shipping information and resolve any delays with Carriers or Customs Ensure and promote all aspects of Health & Safety policies and procedures are complied with in all daily activitiesSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Good numeracy and IT skills, particularly databases & SAP
  • Experience in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Dangerous Goods (ADR, IMDG) Qualifications held
  • Highly organised and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with people at any level
  • Strong organisational and management skills
  • Excellent decision-making abilities and ability to integrate and apply information
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
