This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join an international company in their finance team based in Harrow, reporting directly into the Group Financial Controller. The role purpose is to manage the credit control activities for the whole business, managing 500 live accounts ranging in values. The role will be in a small but friendly team and will be taking ownership of the full credit control process, so a proactive, self-starter is needed for the role, especially as it will be working from home for the next few months. DescriptionKey responsibilities of the Credit Controller include:Manage the AR ledger for the engineering business including performing all normal sales ledger and credit control dutiesChasing invoices via phone and email in a timely mannerRun credit reports for new and existing customers as required and provide guidance on credit terms to Sales and Operations teamsReconciliation of accounts and cash allocationPrepare and provide ad hoc reports on the status of assigned accountsLiaise with Sales and Operations teams to improve communication with Finance and develop better control frameworkDealing with disputes/query resolutionNegotiate payment terms with customersManage and mitigate credit risk by developing new and existing credit control policies to bring them up to dateLiaising with internal/external managementRunning weekly aged debt reportsSetting credit limits with customers and carrying out financial checks on customersProfileThe successful candidate would have:Car owner preferredMinimum 4 years-experience in a similar role, preferably in a business with international operationsGood GCSEs (especially Maths and English)Part Qualified CICM preferred but not essentialExceptional attention to detail Experience with Excel and ERP Systems, particularly SAP/Oracle/Aggresso Solid understanding of double entry accounting Good organisational and communication skills Flexible and comfortable with working in a small, dynamic team Self motivated and proactive Job OfferIdeally the Credit Controller will have experience in a sole role and be immediately available. The role will be initially 3 months on a temporary basis but with an excellent chance of going permanent. The credit controller should have international experience and a good understanding of all types of clients and collection experiences, having used large ERP systems. In return you will be part of a dynamic team in an exciting company and get a full time salary of up to £28,000.
