Job Description

Assistant Laboratory Manager Location - ManchesterRole:Our client is currently looking to recruit an Assistant Laboratory Manager to join the company on a 6 month contract and support the laboratory services within clinical samples management, analysis and delivery of services within genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, proteomics, biochemistry and immunology.As the Assistant laboratory manager you will be responsible for supporting the laboratory and project teams within. You will take an active role in refining and improving laboratory processes, including process and equipment validation, while ensuring project delivery and compliance with quality standards.Specific duties will include:

  • Support of laboratory operations, processes, samples reception & handling
  • Ensuring efficiency of laboratory functions and maintaining quality standards
  • Writing of new laboratory SOP’s
  • Completion of laboratory reports and analytical information
  • Taking an active role in the promotion of quality compliance and health & safety procedures
  • Experience needed:Suitable applicants will have:
  • Industry experience working within a relevant laboratory role which included improvement of laboratory operations and processes.
  • Experience in a high-throughput laboratory working with high sample volumes would be beneficial
  • Experience working within a quality driven laboratory with good knowledge of GLP, ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 27001), Human Tissues Act and Health & Safety practices.
  • Experience writing laboratory SOP’s
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem-solve laboratory issues
  • Strong knowledge one or more relevant scientific areas including; Biochemistry, genomic, metabolomics, transcriptomics and immunology
  • In return, my client offers a 6 month fixed term contract with the potential for extension or permanent appointment. The annual salary will be equivalent to c£35,000 per annum + attractive benefits.
