The Accounting Policy andAssurance Group (APAG) Team is a Global team within Credit Suisse with a teambased in London.APAG includes New Policy Implementation (NPI) and Policy Development (PD). NPIis responsible for all aspects of technical accounting related to theimplementation of new US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards. PD is responsiblefor developing new and revising existing accounting policy documents. PD alsoprovides technical advice to wider APAG team and to those teams who areresponsible for reporting. This role combines both NPI and PDresponsibilities providing the candidate with both the ability to utilize theirstrong technical accounting and analytical skills as well as the opportunity towork across numerous partners to drive the implementation of new accountingstandards from start to finish. Core Tasks include: Technical analysis andinterpretation of new accounting standards including drafting of AccountingRequirements Document.Perform a detailed impactanalysis of the new requirements. Meet with partners to understand bothtechnical and process impacts.Prepare and present educationmaterial to all impacted partnersRepresent Credit Suisse atindustry working groups on new accounting standards.Project manage and drive theimplementation of the new accounting requirements across CreditSuisse.Take on the role of a policydevelopment subject matter expert where you will develop new and reviseexisting policy documents.This includes monitoring both theFASB and IASB on upcoming standards and provide feedback through the commentletter process.Open to discussing flexible/agile working. Your skills and experience Chartered Accountant / CPA withproven work experience in a similar position within the banking industry or aBig 4 accounting firm.Detailed knowledge of US GAAP and/ or IFRS with genuine enthusiasm and ability for researching and solvingtechnical accounting issues and queries is essential. In addition, experiencein US GAAP/ IFRS financial reporting and SEC reporting would be aplus!A proficient understanding ofbanking products from wealth management, asset management and investmentbanking businessOutstanding written and verbalcommunication skills. Able to take complex accounting concepts and explain themin everyday language as well as build positive relationships with internalclients in different locations to understand and address theirneeds.Excellent problem solving skills.Ability to identify, understand and research complex issues/risks.
