Job Description

P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Stock Controller to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full time, permanent basis.The Stock Controllers are key to the successful running of the UK Distribution hub. They ensure the timely receipt and accurate dispatch of communications equipment, as well as organisation of inventory whilst it is in the warehouse. The UK Distribution hub ships and receives products from all over the world, and compliance with export control and hazardous goods shipping is key. The UK Distribution hub is part of the company’s Distribution EMEA, so effective working with both sales and procurement departments is essential. The role reports to the Warehouse Manager.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to the schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
  • Book collections with freight forwarders and couriers for outbound shipments on their electronic booking systems.
  • Unload vehicles of various sizes with equipment ranging from small boxes to 2mtr x 2mtr x 2mtr crates.
  • Accurately and carefully receive products into the warehouse from suppliers.
  • Ensure any physical/virtual movements of stock are recorded correctly in the company inventory management system (Access Dimensions).
  • Perform weekly inventory counts to ensure actual inventory levels match the company’s inventory management system.
  • Liaise with Sales and Supply Chain Operations teams on internal/external customer shipment requirements.
  • Work in compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and CAA regulations.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation.
  • Be safety led when using mechanical handling equipment, adhering to all warehousing and moving/handling legislation.
  • Maintain import and export records as required.
  • Monitoring quarantine stock and packaging levels.
  • Work with the Warehouse Manager to identify and implement efficiencies
    • Skills Required:
  • Counterbalance forklift license advantageous.
  • Knowledge of (or certified to) CAA hazardous goods shipping regulations is advantageous.
  • Effective communicator both verbally and in writing at all levels of the business.
  • Must coordinate professionally with teams outside the warehouse.
  • Be numerically competent - multiple quantities, part numbers, packing instructions to work with.
  • Have logical reasoning - necessary for working with packaging requirements for hazardous goods shipments (batteries)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (primarily Outlook).
  • Attention to detail is extremely important.
  • Person must be reliable, enthusiastic, and display good common sense.
  • Be able to adapt to changing work practises and technologies.
  • Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the course of the shift.
  • 2 years’ experience as a stock controller, shipper, receiver or related position.
