Job Description

Role: Sales EngineerLocation: Great Yarmouth, NorfolkSector: Oil & Gas EngineeringSalary: Up to £30000 basic, bonus & benefitsClient:My client is a market-leading manufacturer and supplier of environmental protection and safety products for fluid transfer operations within the Oil and Gas industry. Their world-class products have become an industry standard with a reputation for quality and reliability.These are exciting times and as part of their ambitious growth plan; they are now looking to expand their sales team and create a new role of Sales Engineer.Role:Sales experience in engineered products, industrial capital equipment or the Oil & Gas sector would be an advantage, as would an engineering background and/or qualification.During the early phase in the role (2-3 years) national and international customer visits will be organised according to how you progress with the aim to develop it into a Regional Sales Manager position.Job Purpose:The main purpose of the role will be to visit customers, respond to customer queries, generate customer quotes, win business and provide general administrative support to the existing sales team.Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Visit customers, relative to the needs of the business, to generate sales.
  • Respond to customers, prepare quotations for all products and services and ensure all quotations are followed up as necessary.
  • Support of Regional Sales Managers when they are travelling by preparing quotations and documentation, ensuring they are kept informed of any developments relevant to their area.
  • Preparing order history packs and to input the information accurately on the ERP system for all orders.
  • You will be required to maintain and update customer and product records in CRM system/excel.
  • Following completion of the induction period (6 months), you will be expected to assess customer needs and offer appropriate solutions when receiving customer enquiries.
  • You will be expected to ensure any customer queries, issues and/or complaints reach a successful and appropriate conclusion.
  • You will be required to liaise between other internal departments and customers to efficiently answer general enquiries concerning lead times, special requests, lower level technical issues, etc.
  • Attend training to develop knowledge, techniques and skills.
