Job Description

Role: Product Design Engineer Location: Great Yarmouth Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum + Excellent BenefitsMy client are currently looking to recruit a Product Design Engineer to Provide microelectronic product design and layout expertise ensuring successful change management, new product launch and customer satisfaction.Main Duties:

  • Design and develop both PCBA and thick film hybrid circuit layouts for new customer owned, customer funded and internal R&D products
  • Generate full drawing packs and associated manufacturing documents to support the above
  • Be the Engineering Lead for specific products and projects
  • Update drawings and associated manufacturing document packs
  • Provide Product Engineering support for current and new products in Manufacturing
  • Liaise with Customers and Design Partners to ensure designs meet performance requirements
  • Participate in cost saving and continuous improvement activities
  • Comply with EHS policies and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required/instructed in order to maintain and/or improve the efficiency, quality and service of the Engineering Team
  • Ensure design work is carried out in a timely manner to meet customer deadlines
  • Undertake identified aspects of the design and development of new products
  • Actively improve or optimise aspects of design, function or processing of existing key products
    • Skills and Background:
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Proven experience in Electronics Design and CAD
  • Practical understanding of microelectronics assembly
  • Experience in the Aerospace or similar industries
  • High reliability microelectronics design and development knowledge
  • Strong Electronics Engineering background
  • Software Design and Programming
  • Working knowledge of Pantheon / Eagle / AutoCAD / Solidworks / Cam350 / GC Powerplace
  • Knowledge of ERP / MRP systems
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving capability
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Ability to cope with new and changing demands
  • Teamwork
  • Ability to manage conflict
  • Willingness to continue to learn and develop
