Job Description

Im working with a global leader in manufacturing and maintenance services for the energy industry who are looking for a Mechanical Technician to join their team in Great Yarmouth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company with a fantastic reputationin their field and are looking to expand in 2024.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Proficient installation of instrument tubing.
  • Full understanding of fabrication and schematic drawings.
  • Conversant with pressure testing control panels/tube work standards up to 25,000 psig.
  • Conversant with Oil/Water Glycol flushing of small-bore instrument tube/control panels to standards.
  • System FAT and function testing of hydraulic/pneumatic control panels, assisting with fault finding.
  • Maintenance of hydraulic/pneumatic control systems to current UKOOA guidelines.
  • Nitrogen pre-charging of bladder/piston accumulators and dampers.
  • Training apprentices and trainees in good practices, pressure testing techniques, and flushing practices.
  • Detailed completion of project close-out reports/documentation/certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Represent the companys image and profile to colleagues, suppliers, clients, and end-users.
  • Communicate effectively and offer sound technical advice to internal and external clients.
  • Complete client work orders, permits, timesheets, etc., to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
  • Always look after the companys interests and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Promote and behave consistently with the clients vision and values.
  • Other duties within the general scope of the post as required.
Person Specification:
  • Education & Training: Engineering NVQ Level 3, Small bore tubing certification (TSBT01, 02, 03)
  • Skills & Competencies: Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, resilience under pressure.
  • General & Specialist Knowledge: Good working knowledge/understanding of Hydraulic, pneumatic systems, Understanding and implementation of engineering specifications.
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in the mechanical/hydraulic trade, Knowledge of MS Office.
