Area Lifesaving Manager - North & East (Temp up to 18 months)This role will be covering the following Lifeboat Stations Happisburgh, Great Yarmouth and Gorleston, Lowestoft, Southwold & AldeburghAbout usOur purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Since the 19th century, our crews have been risking their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning.The RNLI wants to save more lives and reduce drowning by 50% by 2024. In order to work towards this, we are striving to explore the opportunities within our communities for how we identify risks and create opportunities to save more lives.We are now looking for an Area Lifesaving Manager to cover the North & East region on an 18-month fixed term contract. Some of the benefits- £35,993 - £42,345 (dependent on experience)- Flexible working- 26 days’ annual leave pro rata plus Bank Holidays- Outstanding pension scheme (contributions of up to 16% of basic salary)- Life assurance- Health and dental cash planYour roleThis dynamic role will see you lead a highly skilled multi-disciplinary local regional team comprised of staff and volunteers. You will be expected to provide leadership, direction and support in a highly active operational environment to ensure the safety and effectiveness of our lifeboat service in this area.Working as a part of a regional team we are looking for credible, authentic people managers used to leading in an operations environment who will:- Inspire, lead, support, coach and develop a team of staff and volunteers, promoting high quality interpersonal relationships, in order to create an inclusive environment for all RNLI people- Actively manage and be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of the RNLI’s lifesaving services through all aspects of a defined audit and assurance framework. Ideally this would include an understanding of maritime search & rescue operations- Collaborate with other managers to support the effective delivery of rescue, influence, supervise and educate.About youWe are looking for genuine team players who can bring their skills and experience to help shape how we deliver lifesaving services for the future in this area. To ensure a balance of skills within the existing team we are looking primarily for someone who possesses a marine/maritime technical or volunteer manage skill set.It is expected that this role will be based predominantly in the east of the region but the successful candidate will be expected to be willing to travel throughout the region part of the role. Ideally the preferred candidate would be regionally based with easy access to transport links.Ultimately, we want to explore new opportunities to ensure the sustainability of our lifesaving services in order to save more lives.The RNLI is committed to safeguarding; ensuring the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk.
