Job Description

Gilbert Meher have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to take up the post of head of nights at a private luxury nursing home based near Cambridge. The home trulyputs residents first and offers an all inclusive care package to provide a unique person centred service to all residents. We are looking to speak with Nurses who are well versed in elderly care, CQC and NMC regulations, you must have a passion for your work and want all residents to receivethe best care possible to encourage independence and a high quality life. Please see further role requirements below.Role:Head of NightsSalary:£40,000 - £45,000Full-time:3 nights per week + 9 hours supernumeraryJob Specification

  • Take responsibility for Resident care, as designated by the Home Manager/ Deputy Manager
  • Supervise and coach Colleagues, including registered nurses’ clinical activity to provide assistance to Residents in all aspects of their care needs. Assist the Home Manager with regular ‘Supervision’ and Performance Development Reviews in line with company requirements.
  • Ensure that the reporting of any ill-health amongst Residents and requests for GP / Professional visits is followed up to facilitate the appropriate care and treatment of the Resident. Administer prescribed medicines and maintain the appropriate records in line with the Company’s policies, procedures and NMC guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records / notes (including incident reports) to ensure the safeguarding, health and safety and statutory legal requirements are met.
  • Ensure that each Resident has an individualised Care Plan that is reviewed a minimum of monthly and is updated when Residents care needs change.
  • Obtain & provide a comprehensive handover summary from / to the ‘Person in Charge’ to provide continuity in care.
  • Establish and maintain good communication between Residents, Relatives and Colleagues to keep all relevantly informed. Assist the Home Manager and / or Deputy Home Manager for the delivery of clinical services and nursing practice in accordance with regulatory requirements and take responsibility within their absence.
  • Liaise with external professionals e.g. GPs, District Nurses, and Occupational
    • The ideal candidate for this position must have
  • An active registration with NMC;
  • Be driven and motivated to provide excellent levels of care and to lead a team;
  • Be nurse qualified ideally RGN with relevant care home experience;
  • Possess strong leadership qualities;
  • Have good knowledge of CQC standards;
  • The ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with external care professionals, families and visitors;
