Job Description

A position has become available for a CNC Plasma OperatorYou should be used to working from Autocad drawings and using CNC operated machines.You should be fully knowledgeable with programming and setting a CNC Plasma cutter.Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare and operate CNC Plasma machines to manufacture required components in line with production schedules
  • Loading pre-populated programmes onto the PLC controller with the aid of technical documents and/or cutting lists
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines by use of overhead cranes safely and as per standard procedures. Selecting and loading material onto the cutting bed
  • Monitoring cutting programmes, checking parts with respective drawings and amending working parameters when necessary.
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
  • Deburring of parts using grinding tools
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
  • To maintain work equipment and a safe and well organised workstation
  • To complete daily safety checks to ensure machine and work equipment is in good working order
    • Essential skills/experience
  • Ability to read technical fabrication drawings
  • Good understanding of sheet metal work and be knowledgeable with the Plasma cutter
  • Be able to work with Mild Steel & Stainless Steel
  • Must be motivated and have a flexible approach
    • Desirable
  • Experienced with various CNC software would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of press brakes, guillotines and punches
  • Willing and looking for overtime as the company is very busy
