Job Description

As Transport Planner you will be responsible for planning the routes of the companies fleet of vehicles.Client DetailsPage Personnel have partnered up with an exciting Chemical provider which has an international client portfolio.DescriptionAs Transport Planner you will be reporting into the Transport Manager and can expect to have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensuring loads and transport are efficiently planned
  • Optimise the use of all customers delivery windows to help increase vehicle utilisation.
  • Responding to customer enquiries, providing quotations and keeping them updated as to the progress of deliveries.
  • Reviewing routes and suppliers to ensure transport is planned cost effectively and to maximise profitability.
  • Ensuring clear and accurate communication with all UK warehouses so they are aware of returns and outgoing loads and can plan manufacturing effectively.
  • Booking and tracking transport for the internal and sub contracted drivers, ensuring this is done efficiently and professionally.
ProfileThe successful applicant will come with the following skill set:
  • Proven experience in UK Transport planning/routing
  • UK geographical and postcodes knowledge
  • Tanker transport experience
  • Knowledge of Drivers Hours Legislation
Job OfferOn offer for the succesful candidate is:
  • Basic Salary - 27k-30k
  • Mon-Fri
  • Flexibility on start times (8 hour shift)
