Job Description

Rutherford Briant are in the process of recruiting for a Management Accountant with an established and highly profitable construction & civil engineering business based in Grays who are ideally seeking an experienced professional to join their finance team.Our client prides themselves on managing three successful companies within their group which collaborate across a variety of sectors including construction and civil engineering. They would like to recruit a Management Accountant who can take full responsibilityat month-end across their group functions.They are offering a competitive salary up to £45,000 as well as a wide range of excellent benefits including study support & a clear route for progression. They would ideally like to recruit an ACCA/CIMA qualified/part qualified individual who possessesexperience within the construction/property sectors.What you will do:

  • Overseeing and coordinating the month-end financial close process.
  • Maintaining the balance sheet controls & producing P&L reports.
  • Preparation of timely monthly reconciliations, coordinating with sales & purchase ledger staff and supporting them as necessary.
  • Building effective lines of communication with the Head of Finance to support all statutory filings and financial accounting.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for the Operational team on month end reporting, escalating to the Finance Director as necessary.
  • Preparation of statutory submissions, including VAT and CIS, and the first draft pre-audit statutory financial statements.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance to ensure the delivery of improvements in financial reporting systems.
  • Assisting in providing reports that are timely, accurate, presentable, and relevant.
What you will need:
  • ACCA/CIMA - Qualified/Part Qualified.
  • Previous experience in producing full management accounts.
  • Prior construction/property experience (preferred).
  • Sage 200 experience.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Solid organisation and communication skills.
