Job Description

LSA Teaching Assistant - Permanent - term time only Fantastic primary school bases in Grays.We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs withintheir educational setting.Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Support:
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement individualised learning plans for students with diverse learning needs.
    • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons to reinforce learning objectives.
  2. Inclusive Education:
    • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages the participation and engagement of all students.
    • Modify instructional materials and activities to accommodate the diverse needs of students.
  3. Behavioural Support:
    • Assist in managing and addressing challenging behaviours, employing positive behaviour management strategies.
    • Work closely with the schools behavioural support team to implement behaviour intervention plans when necessary.
  4. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, teachers, and other members of the school community.
    • Attend and actively contribute to team meetings, providing insights and updates on student progress.
  5. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
    • Support the assessment process by assisting in the administration of tests and evaluations.
    • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  6. Professional Development:
    • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of special education.
    • Stay informed about best practices and innovations in inclusive education.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two or more passing grades at GCSE, including English and maths education, preferably with a focus on education, special education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Knowledge of different learning styles and effective instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the academic and social development of all students
