Job Description

Pay: Kent Range 3 FTE £18,039,pro-rata £11,481 per year Start Date: Immediate We are looking for a highlyskilled Teaching Assistant to join our excellent team in January 2021. Theposition is initially temporary for a year - with a possibility of a contractextension depending on staffing structure. This is a full-time appointment(27.5hrs per week - term time only - plus INSET) 8.55am to 3.25pm, Monday toFriday The successful candidate will beworking in a Year 3 or Year 4 class, supporting the class teacher. You willwork primarily in the classroom alongside the class teacher or lead smallgroups working towards specific learning targets. You would also be expected tosupport and encourage appropriate learning behaviours and attitudes. Experience of working withchildren in an educational setting is required along with:

  • good English and Mathematicalskills
  • relevant qualifications NVQ 2 and3 in childcare and learning (level 2 only may be acceptable if a willingness towork towards NVQ3 can be demonstrated)
  • flexibility and use ofinitiative
  • strong communicationskills
  • experience of working withchildren in Year 3 and 4
  • the ability to work alongside aspart of a team
  • patience and understanding of theways different children learn
  • a commitment to safeguarding andpromoting the welfare of children.
