Job Description

A small and busy public accountancy practice located in Gravesend, Kent is looking for a qualified / part-qualified Accountant to join its team. Working from an open plan office in the town centre with free parking and public transport links within walkingdistance, you will be a pivotal part of the business and ideally with the company for the longevity with a view to running the practice within 5 years time. As a qualified / part-qualified Accountant your responsibilities will include:

  • Helping to manage the business acting as the number 2 with a view to running the practice in 5 years time.
  • Preparing accounts, corporation tax returns, self assessment returns, payroll and VAT for a portfolio of clients.
  • Working with construction industry clients (CIS) offering admin and full service work covering customers / suppliers / workers and finance.
  • Developing relationships with clients becoming their primary point of contact for any initial accounts, tax, or VAT queries.
  • Working with a variety of systems including: Brightpay, VT, TaxCalc, SAGE and QuickBooks.
The successful qualified / part-qualified Accountant will have the following skills and experience:
  • Be a fully or part qualified accountantAAT, ACCA, CIMA.
  • Working knowledge of using Microsoft Office, Brightpay, QuickBooks, Sage 50, VT Software and TaxCalc.
  • Previous experience working within a practice environment.
  • Experience of working with clients in the construction industry is preferred but not essential.
In return, you will receive a salary of £23,000 - £35,000 pa dependent on experience plus pension. The company also offers free parking and kitchen facilities.
