Job Description

Our Client, a reputable and locally renowned law firm are looking to recruit an experienced Family Paralegal. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to join a leading law firm with offices throughout the East Midlands region. Salary from £18,000 +Essentials Experience Family Paralegal*CILEx Level 3 Certificate in Law & Practise (Family Practise)Duties:

  • Preparing and drafting motions, pleadings, judgments, statements & documents
  • Correspondence (including debt & asset lists, witness affidavits, child support worksheets, responsive pleadings)
  • Performing legal research
  • Maintaining solicitor calendars & case files
  • Scheduling appointments, court appearances & mediation/deposition hearings
  • Serving as a liaison between the client & solicitor
  • Conducting client interviews
  • Preparing trial notebooks & providing assistance in trial settings
  • Preparing & reviewing packages, including disclosure statements, answers to interrogatories & production requests
  • Maintaining effective communication with clients is essential, dealing sensitively with emotionally charged issues such as child custody, child support & division of assets
  • Financial research to include income, expenses, assets & lifestyles of one or both parties
    • Communication: Excellent interpersonal communication skillsCapable of handling clients who may be anxious, upset, or distressedClear communication with other professionals including financial advisors, healthcare providers & accountants Required skills
