After sustained growth this extremely stable automotive supplier is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager / Senior Officer. The business has a lucrative customer base and are moving with the market into Electric vehicles and Automatic transitions.This will be a new role for the company and you will have full autonomy to make this position your own from the ground up, it will be ideal for a Senior Officer or Health and Safety Manager who have worked in a manufacturing environment.Role & Responsibilities:
  • A new role that you can make your own - manage Health and Safety across the whole site.
  • No direct reports so sole responsibility to implement best practice on Health and Safety.
  • Take control of sustainability for site - every customer is asking about becoming green and what the company do for sustainability - You would be in charge of driving this forward.
  • Ensure, verify and improve EHS compliance with internal and external requirements including a system of regular audits.
  • Initiate and conduct training activities to enhance EHS awareness and ensure correct reporting in Safeguard system.
  • Ensure legal requirements are being followed and regular meetings are conducted with the appropriate team.
  • Review and approval of new equipment regarding EHS.
  • Initiate and contribute in EHS improvement projects.
  • Leading a Safety first approach maintaining a zero accident culture. Ensures and monitors work, accident prevention and safe working environment across the business.
  • Fulfil assigned primary, secondary and or tertiary deputy/back-up roles as assigned and required on occasion by the business.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • BA Degree (or equivalent) in HSE
  • 7+ years of proven related professional experience
  • Automotive experience would be advantageous.
  • Other professional designations within the area of environment, health and safety are a plus.
  • Registered professional certification where required.
  • An extensive knowledge of local regulations related to safety, health and environment.
  • Develop, implement, manage and ensure compliance for Environmental, Safety and Health compliance programs.
  • Manage and monitor branch activities which impact areas of environmental and/or safety compliance regulations given in the local country.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills needed to analyze and intepret data trends.
  • Ability to present and to train to assist the branch with EHS training and to develop written procedures where required.
