Job Description

This full-time, permanent position is available for an immediate start or in September 2023, offering stability and the chance to make a lasting impact on students educational journeys.The salary for this term time only, 37 hours per week position is £18202.School and Location:

Responsibilities: As a Science Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Preparing and setting up laboratory equipment and resources for science lessons and experiments.
  • Maintaining an organized and well-stocked science laboratory, ensuring the availability of necessary materials and chemicals.
  • Assisting teachers during practical lessons, providing guidance and support to students.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within the science laboratory.
  • Undertaking routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Supporting the coordination and administration of science examinations and assessments.
  • Collaborating with the science department to facilitate effective teaching and learning experiences.
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of science-related resources and teaching materials.
  • Assisting with the general upkeep of the science department and laboratory.
Requirements: To be considered for this position, you should have:
  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician within an educational setting, preferably in a secondary school.
  • A strong knowledge of science equipment, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring efficient laboratory management.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting teachers and students.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, adapting to the needs of the department and the school.
