Job Description

The Materials Analyst will provide support to the production, warehouse and supply chain teams in respect of raw materials, wastage and yields. They will monitor usage and variances across raw material and packaging components and produce reports and datathat will drive out cost and ensure least cost is achieved throughout the manufacturing process.Client DetailsMy client is leading household brand FMCG manaufacturer that has been operating for over 65 years. Due to new management they have identified a need for a Materials Analyst to join the team.Description

  • Support the production, warehouse and supply chain teams in respect of collating reports against planning performance and capacity plans versus budget performances
  • Continually review and report on raw materials, yields and wastage with a view to improving utilisation and costs.
  • Wastage reports issued weekly in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate the cross functional site team, including NPD, Technical, Manufacturing, Warehouse and engineering teams, to evaluate results of wastage data to ensure areas for improvement are highlighted and influence implementation of corrective actions.
  • Monthly reports issued showing wastage comparisons month on month and versus previous year, highlighting work undertaken and cost savings achieved.
  • Develop and train out to production operatives, and maintain, an effective stock control management system through the system which enables more accurate recording of raw materials and packaging utilisation and more accurate cost control.
  • Monitor and highlight high value stock adjustments for internal audits for ingredients and packaging ensuring they are conducted in line with the internal control processes.
  • Provide resource and support to projects relating to wastage and raw material control as and when required.
  • Conduct daily audit checks to ensure accurate stock levels and material usage are consumed correctly on SAP.
  • Order ingredient flavours and support the material ordering team carrying out relief cover for packaging and bulk material ordering.
  • Complete weekly agency PO and analysis by department.
  • Complete site reports on utility usage, monthly site KPI reporting and site briefing and Board reports.
  • These are the key daily tasks, not a comprehensive list of all tasks undertaken by the jobholder. Flexibility is required by the business & this will be agreed with the individuals line manager.
Profile
  • Extensive MRP knowledge is essential
  • Experience of problem solving is essential
  • Independent working free thinking and the ability to influence is essential.
  • Detailed knowledge of MS Office software (mainly excel, PowerPoint)
  • 3 years experience within an FMCG environment is ideal.
