Job Description

Our client is the largest independent provider of Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and Fleet Management services in the UK with multiple sites supporting leaders in their industry.They are offering an exciting opportunity for a HGV Technician to join the team at their workshop based in Goole. As a HGV Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the most efficient and highest possible standard of mechanical and electrical repair, preventative maintenance and modification of customer vehicles & related ancillary equipment.Work as part of the team to maintain, build employee and customer relations to ensure that the workshop operation achieves all set financial and cultural objectives/targets.This role would be ideal for someone who is a fully qualified HGV Technician looking to work for a leader in the industry and provide true job stability. Role & Responsibilities* To ensure all repairs and maintenance is completed as per company / manufactures requirements and standards* Correct fault diagnosis to ensure replacement parts are fitted correctly and warranty claims are in line with Pullman warranty terms.* Ensure full and complete end of shift handover including vehicle on or off road status.* Answer VMU telephone and deal with all enquires promptly and in a professional, helpful & proactive manner.* To complete job cards, service sheets, timesheets and any other relevant paperwork in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.* To build rapport, develop trust and respect from both internal and external customers.* To contribute to the development and delivery of an effective and proactive cultural environment.* To undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the VMU.* To contribute towards the continuous improvement of processes/methods and operating practices within the VMU.* Undertakes necessary training to become multi skilled.* Provide on the job training and support for other Technicians as and when required.* To undertake diagnostic analysis where appropriate.Skills & Experience* Ideally be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in HGV Vehicle Maintenance Repair* Strong customer service skills* Great communication skills* Experience working as a HGV Technician* Ability to work quickly and effectively* Must be hardworking and self-motivated and a productive Technician* Ability to tackle all aspects of vehicle repair and servicing* Diagnostics skills/qualifications - desirable* HGV license would also be desirableWhat they Offer* Excellent basic and benefits package* Flexible progression based on your career aspirations* Modern site working with a friendly team working environmentAbout Our ClientOur Client is the largest independent provider of Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and Fleet Management services in the UK with a track record stretching back over 35 years, they are trusted by many of the UKs largest commercial fleet operators to keep theirbusinesses on the move.
