Job Description

VAC 429 General Manager - Animal feed and Aqua feedSalary - £33,000-£35,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience)Based Goole Holidays - 30 days per annum with 1-day extra holiday each year of employmentWorks Phone and LaptopCompany: This growing company is a UK and Europe based animal feed and aqua feed supplier. The head office based in Goole, East Ridings of Yorkshire, is equipped with protein production facilities, feed from waste recovery, ingredient trading and final product productionto retail. Their European arm is being created to support expansion plans and trade links to maximise sales and access to materials.Creating a sustainable feed system to enable the use of food sources from the Human food chain to better enhance our carbon footprint and recovery of high-grade materials back into the supply chain.Role:

  • Our head office and main facility at Goole are looking for an experienced General Manager. The role will involve taking lead of the day to day management from floor level and work with the current team and processes while aiming to build and expand.
  • Work with staff in a positive manner to increase production and support the growth of the team through training.
  • Maintain and increase production levels.
  • Increase Health and safety and ensure process systems are maintained.
  • Maintain the quality of goods and services
Responsibilities:
  • Managing day to day work loads and processes
  • Up keep and increase levels of Health and Safety
  • Manage stock levels and through puts
  • Drive and increase staff training and quality protocols
  • Maintain ISO and ABP standards
  • Build new systems to increase production and efficiency
  • Work with all levels of the staff and various departments
  • Upkeep weekly reporting and audit systems
  • Increase recovery rates of stock and manage waste recycling
  • Install new methods and processes
  • Install new systems and certification
Key skills required:
  • At least 2 years previous management experience
  • Experience within the Pet, Animal and /or Aquatic feeds Industry preferred.
  • Previous production experience, and a passion for waste prevention and sustainability.
  • Employee support and basic HR
  • Health and Safety qualifications
  • Knowledge of production and manufacturing methods
  • Full UK driving license
  • Target driven
