Job Description

Pre-sales Automation Applications EngineerWorking for a Global Electrical Connector Holisic Solutions Company To support the External Sales Force, specialist partners and end customers with intimate product knowledge and expertise of the Companys Building automation, Edge technology, Building operationcontrol, IOT, cloud based solutions, and Lighting Automation solutionsThe Field Pre Sales Application Engineer will provide a centre of excellence for all building products (especially automation) and support the area sales team, key automation partners and segment teams to provide technical field-based support with Projectsand throughout the customer life cycle.Principle Accountabilities:

  • Update and maintain technical information to key channel partners.
  • In collaboration with Projects, sales and Marketing teams produce robust and effective field-based training material.
  • Build solutions-based applications for all customer types.
  • Provide technical and product support for customers with a particular focus on Building operation control, , IOT, cloud based solutions, Building Automation and Lighting Automation
  • Maintain a robust catalogue of competitor intelligence with a particular reference to new and innovative products entering the marketplace
  • Support with intimate product knowledge external exhibitions, trade shows etc.
  • Internal and external SWOT analysis
  • Support customers and clients with training and solution support where required and appropriate
  • Provide an internal expertise centre and knowledge base of all Proprietary Networks
  • Support on customer designs and projects as necessary defined by the Head of Engineering and Projects
Knowledge/Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes:
  • Deep understanding of the product range with particular reference to Building operation control, IOT, cloud based solutions, Building Automation and Lighting Automation and software
  • A thorough understanding of the commercial environment in which the Company operates and an acknowledged expert in IOT
  • The ability to engage with and support internal and external stakeholders (Business Development, Projects, Marketing)
  • The ability to engage with external stakeholders i.e. current customers and future prospects
  • First Class communications skills both written and verbal
  • A willingness to travel to customer sites, trade exhibitions and in support of other projects, for example to act as lead partner in technical training programs
  • Technical knowledge of 3rd party products to support integration with Product range
