Pertemps Industrial Division are currently supporting our Construction & Engineering Client on their search to a temporary Yard Operative to join their team who are based in Glasgow East End on a temp contract over the next few weeks.Immediate Start£18,525 per annum08:00am to 16:30pm Mon-Thurs & 15.30pm finish on a FridayClient will put you through forklift training to obtain your Licence after 6 months (if you do not have one yet)Responsibilities+ Deal courteously with customers/visitors and drivers, ensuring they report to the Branch office upon arrival.+ Ensure that all deliveries/returns match with the accompanying paperwork.+ Ensure the safe loading/unloading of equipment, carrying out the necessary Risk Assessments.+ Ensure the yard and warehouse are always kept in a tidy condition and that materials are stored in the correct place, reporting any shortages to the Yard Foreman.+ Ensure that instructions are carried out safely in line with the Companys Health and Safety Policy.+ Assist in achieving/exceeding hire and sales targets.+ Ensure that Branch Risk Assessments safe systems of work are fully complied with.+ Ensure the Companys Quality Assurance levels on standard of equipment are adhered to.+ Carry out any reasonable requests made by Company staff.Knowledge skills & experience+ Good numeracy skills.+ Current Forklift Truck Counterbalance licence desirable but not essential.+ Experience of working in a factory/warehouse environment with Goods-in/despatch experience.+ An awareness of safe working and Health & Safety procedures.+ Basic computer skillsPerson+ Live within commutable distance of the Glasgow G31+ Customer service focus.+ Accuracy and attention to detail.+ Ability to work under own initiative and as a member of a team
