Job Description

Join this pioneer of evolving technology in the heart of Glasgow as their first UX Designer in a hybrid role with 2 days per week in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of their upcoming platform iteration. Collaborateclosely with the Development team, defining the user interface design whilst maintaining close connections with the business and customer needs.Do you have experience in a data-heavy environment Have you worked in complex design B2B environmentsWith a fast-paced start-up feel, this well-established company has weathered many storms and will offer stability in an ever-changing employment market. This is a hybrid opportunity with 2 days per week in Glasgow or Edinburgh.UX Designer role responsibilities:

  • Identify the necessary UX components for each software module and feature.
  • Develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts and test new ideas.
  • Contribute to product documentation planning and design.
Essential skills required of the UX Designer:
  • 5+ years of experience in UX design, emphasising comfortable user experiences.
  • Experience in a data-heavy environment focusing on data visualisation, data processing, complex design elements and B2B environments.
  • Some experience in UI design, particularly for web-based applications
  • Robust portfolio showcasing UX design work that highlights a process centred on users and exceptional problem-solving abilities with case-study examples of successful implementations.
  • Proficiency in design tools for generating both designs and digital assets for user interfaces.
Desirable skills:
  • Familiarity with automated build processes.
  • Knowledge of UI automation tools for testing purposes.
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge about common image formats, their strengths and weaknesses, and how to convert between them.
